NASPRI mull partnership with IPC

On Wednesday, 12th march 2025, the Institute of Public Communication (IPC) led by the Founder and Executive Director, Dr, Suleiman A. Suleiman paid a courtesy Visit to the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri Abuja where they were received by the Commandant Lt. Col. A.Y. Ngulde

In his remarks, Dr. Suleiman described the IPC as a new initiative seeking enhance public communication amongst media aides and spokespersons in the Non-profit, Private and public sectors which includes the military. This is to primarily bridge the gap between the government and the governed, hence the motto, “governance by persuasion”.

Speaking further Dr. Suleiman stated that the IPC has designed executive and advanced courses specifically suited for the military communication to aid its non-kinetic approach to fighting foreign and domestic criminality that threatens the sovereignty and peace of the Nigerian state. For example, he attributed the failure to pass the RUGA bill and the cyber levy bill as a gap in communication which could have been avoided with the right strategy and training. If passed, Both peoples were aimed at solving the reoccurring farmer-herder clashes in line with global best practices of ranching as well as generate more revenue and create Jobs.

While reacting, Lt. Col. Ngulde thanked the IPC for finding the Nigerian Army School of public Relations and Information (NASPRI) worthy of a visit. He stated that NASPRI was founded in April 2010 to address the need for advanced public relations training within the Nigerian military as it provides training for personnel from all branches of the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Speaking further the Commandant expressed optimism at the prospects of partnering with the IPC as they are currently doing with the university of Abuja to enhance the delivery capacity of its personnel. He once again thanked the IPC team for visiting. Dr. Suleiman was also given the privilege to address Officer attending a course at the school.
