IPC pays Courtesy Visit to Department of Army Public Relations

The Institute of Public Communications (IPC) on Friday 7th March 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Director, Department of Army Public Relations (DAPR) Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu. The Visit led by the Founder and Executive Director IPC, Dr. Suleiman A. Suleiman described the IPC as a new initiative seeking to bridge the gap between the government and the governed, in this case civil and military relations.

Out of thirty-six states of the federation, the country is battling various forms of security challenges across twenty-one states there by over stretching the capacity of the military, hence there is need to learn the art of watering the ground for a military offensive through the thoughtful art of effective strategic communication designed to ensure a successful.

The Director (DAPR) while reacting, stated that the Nigerian army already has a school, The Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) specifically designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of military personnel in key areas of military public relations, such as information operations, media operations, crisis communication, and strategic communication. They are able to do this through collaboration with some faculties from the department of Mass Communication, University of Abuja described the IPC as a very good idea that has come at the right time and can also be a partner in progress to execute certain courses. He urged the IPC to reach and pay a visit to NASPRI to get an over view of the school and see how we can partner.
